Military Experience

Forty year old Samuel Watson (3904) enlisted at Ballarat on 06 March 1916 and was a member of the 5th Tunnelling Company. At the time of his enlistment her was married to Alice Watson of 98 Peel Street, Ballarat, and his trade was 'batteryman'.[1]

Watson embarked at Melbourne on the HMAT Warilda on 25 May 1916. On 29 September Sapper Watson was taken on strength to the 2nd Tunnelling Company. He was discharged on 06 June 1918 with Rheumatism.[2]
