Frank Ridgwell was born in Nhill. [1]

Military Experience

Frank Ridgewell (5206) was a painter when he enlisted in Ararat. He embarked on 01 April 1917 with the 8th Battalion. In September he was attached to the 1st Canadian Tunnelling Company before returning to the 8th Battalion. Shortly afterwards he was hospitalised with nephrites and pleurisy. He was sent home in June 1918 and was discharged in 24 October 1918.[2]

Commemoration

A tree was planted for Frank Ridgwell in the Ballarat Orphanage's Arthur Kenny Avenue of Honour.[3]
